What is REST REST incorporates the fundamental and important aspects of attachment, trauma and somatic therapy in an embodied, relational and experiential way, while paying attention to neurobiology and psychoeducation. REST takes place in a group setting with a minimum of 2 experienced facilitators indoors and in nature.
Why attend REST It is an opportunity to gain some deeper understanding of how your body holds onto unprocessed information and impacts you, both in your work, as well as in your individual history, relationships and daily life.
Who should attend REST Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Supervisors and Counselling Tutors & Trainers from any therapeutic modality will benefit from REST.
Day 1
- Creating safety within the group and within our embodied selves
- An overview of how and why our bodies hold onto unprocessed information
- Ways of listening to what our body is saying and following it to release and process
- Theory and somatic exercises to ground theory into practice.
Day 2 & 3
- Facilitated and experiential group, work incorporating pair and individual exercises facilitated by the trainers both indoors and in nature
- Fully experiential days
Day 4
- Bringing the learning from theory and embodied process together
- Taking experience and learning into life and practice
- Group ending.
